Financial Aid
Financial aid is available for students who already hold a bachelor's degree. Students in any post-bachelor's program must be enrolled in at least five credit hours to be eligible for financial aid. Graduate students at Boise State may apply for financial aid. See how graduate financial aid differs from undergraduate aid on the Financial Aid website.
To apply for Federal Student Aid, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) at studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa. The Federal School Code for Boise State University is 001616. You can reach the Financial Aid Office by phone at 208-426-1664.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for qualified applicants. All scholarships offer the same discount—15 percent off tuition, saving students about $5,500. The 15 percent discount is applied incrementally to each course a student enrolls in; it cannot be applied all at once. Discounts and scholarships may not be combined.
Affiliate Partner Discount
A 15 percent Partner Discount is available to students who qualify through their company. Ask your Enrollment Specialist for details and to find out if your company is a partner by calling 855-290-3840.
Experience Scholarship
The Experience Scholarship is available to students who meet the requirement of at least five years of full-time professional management experience where they have managed either people, budgets or customer accounts beyond a basic level. Student must meet all other admission requirements to be accepted into the program and receive the scholarship. A resume must be provided and evaluated by the University before the scholarship is awarded.
Alumni Scholarship
Go Broncos! A scholarship is available for all current Boise State Alumni Association members who have completed at least 25 credit hours at Boise State prior to enrolling in the Online MBA program. You are eligible to join the Alumni Association by paying annual dues of $50 or less.
Military Discount
Current or previous active-duty, reserve military or Army National Guard members and their spouses are eligible for a 15 percent Military Discount. Applicants who are interested in applying for the discount should indicate military affiliation on the admission application and be able to show proof of military status via a copy of their Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) or their DD214.

A well-qualified Online MBA candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- 3.00 or higher GPA in undergraduate coursework
- 2 years experience working full time in a managerial role
- GMAT/GRE scores (waiver available)
Candidate Profile
Boise State OMBA candidates possess a high degree of motivation, professional work experience, strong managerial potential and an aptitude for graduate study. Our Online MBA students come from diverse backgrounds, including engineering, social sciences, liberal arts, business, and health care.
The Online MBA program is designed for students from every industry and undergraduate background. No prerequisites are required.
Our curriculum is relevant, applicable and built for working professionals to use the next day at work. It is important that students are prepared academically and experientially to succeed in the program.

Admission Requirements
The Admissions Committee will review and evaluate prior academic performance, leadership experience, professional experience, aptitude for graduate study, writing skills, general motivation and managerial attributes based on the admission standards set by the College of Business and Economics for graduate business programs.
A well-qualified Online MBA candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or higher
- Applicants with a 2.75-3.00 GPA may be considered for provisional admission
- If an applicant's GPA in their last two years (60 credits) of study is better than an overall cumulative, the higher GPA will be considered
- Two years of significant, full-time management experience
- This is experience where applicants have managed people, budgets and customer accounts beyond a basic supervisory level. For example, roles where applicants have been responsible for hiring/firing, company training, fiscal management, and/or contract negotiations would typically qualify.
- Minimum score of 500 on the GMAT or 147/148 on the GRE OR qualify for a test score waiver; scores should be sent to Boise State's code: 4018. The GMAT/GRE test score requirement may be waived for applicants with:
- Three years of significant management experience and a 3.00 GPA in their undergraduate career
- OR five years of significant management experience and a 2.75 GPA in their undergraduate career
- OR applicants who already possess a master's- or doctoral-level degree with a minimum 3.00 GPA

- Current, detailed resume highlighting your professional work experience
- Brevity should not be a concern. Please include start and end dates (month and year) for each position held and indicate full or part-time employment. - Where do you think an MBA from Boise State will take your career?
- Optional essay of up to 500 words
- This is an opportunity to provide additional information to the Admissions Committee and to explain anything that may not be covered in your Personal Statement—e.g., shortcomings in academic performance, time off from school or work, educational program transfers/discontinuation, or any other inconsistencies in the application. Re-applicants are required to submit this essay and respond to the question: Since your previous application, what are the steps you’ve taken to strengthen your candidacy?
- Recommendations
- Two completed Recommendation Forms must be completed by professional contacts. A recommendation from your current supervisor is preferred but not required. Please select people who can provide details about your professional work and ability to be successful in an MBA program. There are two ways to request recommendations:
- You may designate recommenders in the online application by entering their email addresses. A form and email request with instructions will be automatically sent to them. They must complete their recommendation electronically.
- You may send your recommenders the Recommendation Forms and ask that they return the form via PDF to [email protected].
- Two completed Recommendation Forms must be completed by professional contacts. A recommendation from your current supervisor is preferred but not required. Please select people who can provide details about your professional work and ability to be successful in an MBA program. There are two ways to request recommendations:

Courses
Our Online MBA in Healthcare Leadership curriculum offers a relevant business education featuring essential organizational disciplines and leadership principles. Along with our unique Design Thinking course, core coursework for this program includes managerial accounting, corporate finance, marketing strategy and legal issues. As a student in this program, you will complete 10 core courses and three Healthcare Leadership emphasis courses.
